Trace Elements

Trace minerals are ESSENTIAL for a strong reproductive performance

Reproduction places a lot of demand on a cow’s nutritional resources, particularly as mating may coincide with peak milk production. A successful mating requires a complex interaction between vital organs within the cow that all have nutritional requirements, without these needs being met in appropriate amounts and forms, cows may fail to return to cyclicity and fail to become pregnant.

Trace elements interactions are complex and many trace elements have been identified as impacting reproduction. These include Calcium, Cobalt, Copper, Iodine, Magnesium, Selenium and Zinc.

It is important to work with a veterinarian to conduct testing to identify any trace element deficiencies and decide on an appropriate course of action to rectify identified deficiencies.
